Job Summary

Blue Tees Golf is seeking a hands-on, strategic Director of Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) to build and lead the company’s FP&A function. Reporting to the CFO, this role will own the annual budgeting process, monthly reforecasting, financial modeling, executive reporting, and business performance analytics.

This is a builder role for someone who can create structure, improve visibility, and help leadership make faster, better-informed decisions. The ideal candidate is highly analytical, clear in communication, proactive, coachable, and comfortable operating with autonomy in a fast-moving environment.


Key Responsibilities

Financial Planning & Forecasting

  • Own the company's annual operating plan (AOP), end-to-end budgeting process, and rolling forecast cycle.
  • Lead the company's rolling forecast process through monthly reforecasting and quarterly planning updates.
  • Build long-range financial plans and scenario models to support strategic decision-making.
  • Partner with department leaders to pressure test assumptions, demand models, product plans, and investment decisions.

Executive Reporting & Business Insights

  • Build executive reporting packages that clearly communicate business performance, risks, and opportunities.
  • Develop dashboards and KPI reporting that provide visibility into revenue, gross margin, product performance, channel profitability, and sales performance by geography.
  • Translate financial and operational data into clear, actionable insights for the CEO, CFO, and leadership team.
  • Establish a reporting cadence that improves visibility and accountability across the business.

Product, Channel & Margin Analysis

  • Build and own product-level profitability and gross margin reporting across hardware and software offerings.
  • Analyze revenue and margin performance by product line, SKU, business unit, channel, and geography.
  • Evaluate retail channel economics, including deductions, chargebacks, promotional activity, and co-op programs.
  • Partner with Sales, Product, Marketing, and Supply Chain to identify margin improvement opportunities.

Cash Flow & Financial Modeling

  • Build and maintain a rolling 13-week cash flow forecast.
  • Develop financial models to evaluate pricing, product launches, investments, cost optimization, and growth opportunities.
  • Support working capital planning and cash visibility as the business scales.

Systems, Data & Process Improvement

  • Use NetSuite, Power BI, Excel, and other reporting tools to improve financial visibility and reporting speed.
  • Establish consistent financial metric definitions and improve data governance across Finance-owned reporting.
  • Identify opportunities to automate manual reporting processes and improve reporting accuracy.

Technology & AI

  • Leverage AI tools to automate repetitive tasks, improve efficiency, accelerate technical research, and enhance reporting quality.
  • Identify and implement technology solutions that improve efficiency, reporting accuracy, and scalability while maintaining strong data accuracy.
  • Champion continuous improvement through thoughtful adoption of automation and emerging technologies.

Cross-Functional Partnership

  • Serve as a trusted finance partner to leaders across Finance, Sales, Product, Marketing, Supply Chain, Operations, and Engineering.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
  • Influence business decisions through data, financial discipline, and practical recommendations.
  • Operate with strong ownership, urgency, organization, and follow-through.


Qualifications and Requirements

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
  • 5–8+ years of progressive experience in FP&A, Corporate Finance, Strategic Finance, or Finance Business Partner roles.
  • Experience owning an annual operating plan, budgeting process, and monthly reforecasting.
  • Strong financial modeling, forecasting, and scenario planning experience.
  • Experience building executive dashboards, KPI reporting, and performance reporting from scratch.
  • Experience with product-level profitability, gross margin reporting, or business unit-level financial analysis.
  • Strong NetSuite reporting and financial systems experience.
  • Advanced Excel and/or Google Sheets skills.
  • Experience with Power BI, Tableau, Looker, or similar dashboarding/reporting tools.
  • Experience in CPG, consumer products, consumer electronics, SaaS, or hardware/software business models.
  • Strong executive communication, presentation, and business partnership skills.
  • Ability to operate independently with minimal handholding.
  • Strong organization, follow-through, and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated use of AI tools to improve workflows, automate analysis, increase productivity, or enhance financial reporting.

 Preferred

  • Experience with both consumer products/CPG and SaaS business models.
  • Experience building an FP&A function or significantly improving planning infrastructure.
  • Experience supporting retail, eCommerce, or multi-channel revenue models.
  • MBA, CPA, or CFA.
  • Experience in a high-growth or founder-led environment.


Education & Experience

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
  • 5–8+ years of progressive FP&A, Corporate Finance, or Strategic Finance experience.
  • Experience partnering directly with senior leadership.

Preferred

  • MBA, CPA, or CFA.
  • Experience in high-growth consumer products, consumer electronics, SaaS, or multi-channel businesses.
